Seeing Blue as Kiara and hearing her voice come from that character—give me a second! I’m still processing it. I can’t believe that’s my baby! It was so amazing, I could barely focus on my job afterward. I was like, “Hold on, y’all! I need a moment to take this in. I’m just so proud of her!”
Oh, Mommy! Someone wants to join!
Alright, let’s talk about something that’s been on fans’ minds. People have been noticing that Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s son, Sir, is rarely seen in public appearances. Beyoncé often shares moments with Blue and Rumi, which makes sense—they’re girls. But why don’t we ever see Sir, even with Jay-Z?
Is it because of a medical issue, like some have speculated? Are the Carters intentionally keeping him out of the spotlight? Or is he just a quiet kid who doesn’t care for all the cameras, like his grandma once said?
So, what is Sir into?
Apparently, he’s very quiet and incredibly smart—more into numbers than fashion.
One thing’s for sure: Beyoncé and Jay-Z have always made it clear how much they love their kids and how they try to be as present as possible, despite their busy lives. In an episode of Hart to Heart on Peacock, Jay-Z opened up about why he prioritizes family over everything else:
“This is all you have. The only thing we control is how we spend our time. Every second you spend is time away from the development of these people you love more than anything. So what are you going to spend it on? That changed practically everything for me.”
Beyoncé has always made it clear that her priority is keeping her kids’ lives as private and normal as possible, especially as they get older. She told GQ:
“I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family. No amount of money is worth my peace. I try only to tour when my kids are out of school. I always dreamt of a life where I could see the world with my family and expose them to different languages, architecture, and lifestyles.”
A source also told Hollywood Life:
“She tries her best to keep life as normal for her children. She was instrumental in choosing schools for Blue to attend and made sure to choose the most private school she could find so that Blue could just be a normal child in preschool like all children her age.”
And honestly, I get it. Privacy is key when you’re one of the most famous families in the world—it helps protect them from the media circus and lets them control their own narrative. But if that’s the case, why do we see Blue Ivy and Rumi so much? Especially Blue.
I mean, she’s been in the spotlight since birth. When she was literally two days old, her newborn cries were featured on her dad’s song Glory, earning her a Guinness World Record for being the youngest person to ever appear on a Billboard chart. By the time she was 8, she was already winning awards—she sang on Brown Skin Girl and walked away with a BET Her Award, an NAACP Image Award, and a Grammy for Best Music Video, making her the second-youngest person to ever win a Grammy.
And it’s not just music—Blue has been front and center for a lot of major moments in her parents’ careers. She helped induct Jay-Z into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, narrated a book, and has been a regular in Beyoncé’s performances. She was on stage in Dubai in January 2023, singing Brown Skin Girl with her mom, and then joined her on multiple stops of the Renaissance tour.
Most recently, she was cast in Mufasa. And let’s be real—this happened right when some serious allegations about Jay-Z started circulating. Yet, Blue was still making appearances like nothing was going on.
So, yeah, I totally understand the need for privacy. But let’s not pretend that Blue isn’t already a full-blown public figure at this point.
According to her grandmother, Blue has a ton of hidden talents that the world hasn’t even seen yet.
“What other hidden talents does she have that people don’t know about?”
“Oh, so many!”
“Can you share a couple?”
“She paints, she draws, she writes poetry—she’s just really artistic.”
It looks like creativity runs in the family because Rumi is following in the footsteps of her mom and big sister. She’s already had some big public moments, including modeling for Beyoncé’s Ivy Park brand.
Jay-Z recently brought Blue and Rumi to the 2024 Super Bowl, where they were spotted taking photos on the field. And according to their grandmother, Rumi is already proving to be an artist, just like her parents and sister.

“Rumi just made history—she’s only seven! I think it was the Billboard Hot 100? She even beat her sister, Blue, because she made it on the charts at just six years old!”
“That’s incredible! Tell us a little about Rumi and how excited you are.”
“Oh, Rumi is amazing. She’s an artist through and through—she paints, she creates. But honestly, how could she not be? Creativity, fashion, and art are a huge part of our family.”
But what about Sir? Compared to his sisters, he’s rarely seen in public.
Beyoncé has shared glimpses of him on Instagram, and he appeared briefly in Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé and Black Is King. In Black Is King, Beyoncé even dedicated the film to him with the words:
“To my son, Sir Carter, and to all our sons and daughters—the sun and moon bow for you. You are the keys to the kingdom.”
Still, outside of those rare moments, Sir remains much more private than Blue and Rumi.
His grandmother, Tina Knowles, has mentioned that he’s naturally more reserved. But she’s also said that, like his sisters, he has a strong creative side.
“They’re all artistic in their own way. Creativity just runs in the family.”
So if Sir is just as talented as his siblings, why don’t we see more of him?
That question popped up again after Beyoncé’s Good Morning America interview in December. She and Blue were there to promote Mufasa: The Lion King, and while Rumi made a sweet cameo at the end, Sir was noticeably missing.
