Jennifer Lopez’s ex, Ojani Noa, is definitely stirring things up. Recently, he’s been on Instagram dropping hints about a “Diddy List” and suggesting that people should ask JLo about her rumored “Freak-Off” tapes. He’s even claimed that JLo was involved in some kind of blood rituals and hinted that Diddy was partly responsible for their divorce. But here’s the bombshell—rumor has it Ojani may have tapes involving JLo and Diddy and might be considering leaking them as revenge. Okay, Ojani, you’ve got our attention—what’s the real story?
Now, for a bit of background on these two: JLo and Ojani met when he was waiting tables at Gloria Estefan’s Miami spot, Lario’s on the Beach. JLo had just wrapped Money Train, and they fell for each other pretty quickly. Ojani once opened up about that time, saying, “There were so many times I felt like Mr. Cinderella. She was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. At first, I didn’t even know who she was. We fell in love when she was already famous, but during our marriage, she became a mega-star. For years, it was too painful to talk about—I wanted to lie low and live my life.”
Their relationship hit a major turning point when JLo was cast in Selena. Despite the pressures and fast fame, they still got engaged during the wrap party in 1996 and tied the knot in February 1997. But the marriage only lasted 11 months. Ojani later shared that JLo went from being “Jen” to “JLo, the brand,” and she was suddenly surrounded by new people who all had an interest in her rising career. He remembered calling her and being told by an assistant, “Sorry, she’s not available.”
Since their divorce, Ojani Noa has consistently expressed negative feelings toward Jennifer Lopez, especially regarding her relationships and her marriage to Ben Affleck. In 2022, Ojani commented on Ben and JLo’s relationship, suggesting that he understood why Ben might have been frustrated. According to Ojani, when he was with Jennifer, she was more focused on her fame than their relationship. He believed Ben was probably upset by how much JLo shared about their personal lives on social media. Ojani even said, “Ben is husband number four. I was husband number one, and she told me I was the love of her life. On our wedding night, she said we’d be together forever. I wish her and Ben the best, but I’m not convinced it will last.”
Ojani’s prediction seemed to come true, as JLo and Ben’s marriage eventually ended, and when the news of their divorce hit, Ojani said he wasn’t at all surprised.
Reflecting on his own marriage to Jennifer, Ojani has claimed that she ended things when she no longer needed him. He described their time together as “great but also sad,” saying they both felt it was the end of the road. He explained that he always believed in marriage and had been passionate about theirs. “I was there for her from the start, supporting her as she navigated the pressures of fame,” he recalled. “But after she achieved everything she wanted, I felt like I wasn’t needed anymore.”
More recently, Ojani stirred up attention once again by posting a supposed guest list from one of Diddy’s infamous parties on his Instagram, including a photo of JLo at the event. In the caption, he wrote, “I’m not on the list. For all those asking if I attended Diddy’s wild parties—no, I didn’t. But my ex-wife JLo did. Ask her about it! Oh, and ask her about the tapes, the 734 dildos, and the baby oil.”
In a follow-up interview, Ojani clarified his post. Speaking in Spanish, he explained, “I’m not accusing anyone—I’m just tired of people constantly asking me if I went to those parties. I didn’t, but she did. People should ask her when they have the chance, not me.”
In the same interview, Ojani Noa opened up about how he believed Diddy played a role in his breakup with Jennifer Lopez. He explained, “Part of that divorce was because of Puffy. When we were married, and Selena’s career started taking off, Jennifer told me, ‘Papi, I want to be a singer.’ I said, ‘Mami, let’s go for it. Let’s take the meetings with different record labels and see who will sign you.’”
Noa then went on to claim that Diddy got involved with JLo’s recording deal at Sony Music and was set to produce several songs for her debut album On the 6 in 1999. He believed that’s where “the deception and the lying began,” and ultimately, where their relationship started to fall apart.
Though Ojani didn’t elaborate on what the “deception” was exactly, it’s clear he feels Diddy’s influence on JLo’s career was a major turning point in their marriage. While he didn’t reveal all the details, it’s easy to guess what he meant. After all, Diddy and JLo began dating in 1999, and rumors circulated that she had already been involved with him before her marriage to Ojani ended. Ojani shared how he felt when photos of JLo and Diddy surfaced, saying, “I called Jen and asked why she was going on dates with him. She told me, ‘It’s just business—this is what I’m being told to do.’ I was jealous and would scream, ‘But you’re married! We talked about having kids!’ Then she told me she couldn’t have a baby because it would interfere with her career.”
Ojani clearly believed that Jennifer Lopez was cheating on him with Diddy. But there’s more to the story—he even made some strange claims about her involvement in blood rituals during the rumors that she was seeing Diddy and Miami club owner Chris Paciello. Desperate to save their marriage, Ojani went with Jennifer to visit a Santeria guru in L.A. He recalled, “At the end of the ‘90s, my black magic godmother, who later became Jennifer’s spiritual leader, was like a mother to me—protecting, guiding, and looking after me. We took part in rituals together, sacrificing chickens and hens. One time, I saw Jennifer being cleansed with hen’s blood. They poured the blood all over her, covering her completely. Then, she was bathed in holy water to wash it off, and the godmother passed herbs over her body, praying to the gods to save our marriage.”
That’s definitely a wild twist.
Despite his attempts to keep their relationship together, Jennifer and Ojani ultimately separated, and she publicly started dating Diddy. However, Ojani claims that there were times when Jennifer would tell him she wanted to reconcile, saying things like, “I need you in my life. I don’t want to lose you.”
In a more recent interview, when asked what he would say to Jennifer if they were face-to-face, Ojani responded, “I’d want to hear the truth. I’d ask her, ‘What did I do to make you take me to court? You accused me, lied about me, and made up stories. You even called companies to get me fired, and contacted TV networks to blacklist me—why? I haven’t done anything to deserve that. Let her tell the truth. Let her explain everything that really happened.’”
These allegations seem to be tied to the ongoing legal battles between the former couple. After their divorce, they kept a professional relationship for a while, but things took a turn when Ojani filed a lawsuit against JLo over some employment issues. The case was eventually settled, with Ojani agreeing not to reveal any personal details about their relationship or profit from badmouthing her. However, shortly after, Ojani began pitching a book about their marriage, which obviously upset JLo, especially since it reportedly included details she didn’t want the public to know. JLo responded by filing a lawsuit, and the court ruled that Ojani had to pay her $545,000 for trying to publish a tell-all. In addition, a permanent injunction was placed on him. Reportedly, after the ruling, Ojani, who represented himself in court, turned to JLo’s lawyer and said, “I guess you need the money, huh?”
Even though the book was never released, some of its contents still leaked. It was said to portray Lopez as a diva who became increasingly verbally abusive toward Ojani as her celebrity status grew. It also allegedly claimed she had a physical relationship with her ex, P. Diddy.
