Remember the last time you were here? I mentioned that I could totally see you getting back with Puffy, even just a little bit. I think you kind of agreed or at least entertained the thought of it happening for real. It’s crazy, though! The second that came up, everyone had an opinion, and they all jumped in. It was hilarious to me how quickly people got involved.
Did you see Guadalupe Rodriguez’s reaction when Wendy Williams suggested JLo and Diddy should get back together? She was like, “Oh no, not happening on my watch!” JLo’s mom clearly had a sense of what was up with Diddy. And, if the rumors are true, the feds have already questioned her about what she knows, and she definitely wasn’t siding with Diddy.
But the real question is, does Guadalupe dislike Diddy because of his character, or is it something else, like his race? People have been talking. Nearly a decade ago, JLo’s mom made her feelings about Diddy clear, and now those feelings are back in the spotlight.
In a clip from The Wendy Williams Show that’s been making the rounds lately, Wendy brought up the idea of Diddy and Jennifer Lopez getting back together. JLo seemed amused but clearly wasn’t taking the suggestion seriously. She even mentioned that Wendy had brought this up before, so it wasn’t the first time she’d heard it. But Wendy kept pushing, insisting they should reunite “for good.”
At that point, JLo turned to her mom, who was sitting right in the front row. Her mom made a clear “no way” gesture and seemed to mouth the words, “It’s done.” And honestly, it’s not surprising why JLo would be so adamant about shutting down the idea of getting back together with Diddy. If you remember, back in December 1999, JLo and Diddy were involved in that huge nightclub incident in New York City where shots were fired, and three people got hurt. The fallout from that could’ve easily put JLo behind bars.
There’s even talk now that the feds have offered JLo a deal to throw Diddy under the bus in connection to that night. Reportedly, her mom is urging her to take the deal, and there are even rumors that JLo is now willing to testify against Diddy to avoid any potential legal issues from that 1999 drama.
Diddy and JLo were enjoying a night out at a club to celebrate Shyne’s upcoming album release when things took a chaotic turn around 2:20 a.m. Diddy accidentally knocked a drink out of the hand of a patron named Matthew Allen, who goes by the street name Scar. Instead of brushing it off, Scar confronted Diddy, and their argument escalated, resulting in injuries to three people.
In the aftermath, JLo and Diddy quickly left the scene in a 1999 Lincoln Navigator but ended up running a red light. They were pulled over by the police, who discovered a stolen 9mm handgun in the trunk of their vehicle. Both were arrested, but JLo’s ordeal was particularly distressing—she spent 14 hours in a jail cell. According to a police source, she was in such emotional turmoil that she alternated between crying incoherently and sobbing uncontrollably.
To make matters worse, JLo’s mom came to the police station to pick her up. A former NYPD detective, Derek Parker, remembered hearing her mother screaming at JLo in Spanish, clearly upset. He recalled her saying, “I told you not to get involved with him.”
Eventually, JLo, Diddy, and his bodyguard Wolf were released, but Shyne faced a much tougher situation, serving nine years in prison. This was despite allegations from one of the injured women, Natania Rubin, who claimed that Diddy had pointed a gun at her. For the past 25 years, Diddy has consistently denied any wrongdoing, but many who witnessed the events that night believe otherwise.
Natania has claimed that JLo lied to the jury, suggesting that she should be tried alongside Diddy for her alleged dishonesty. She also believes that the security guard who searched them at the club should face charges for lying as well. Natania revealed that she still has nine bullet fragments in her face from the incident and feels strongly that the case should be reopened.
Interestingly, JLo testified before a grand jury, along with several others. If this case is revisited, she could find herself in serious trouble. Reports indicate that her mother is working closely with federal authorities to keep JLo out of prison, possibly arguing that Diddy pressured JLo into illegal activities during their time together.
The indictment against Diddy paints a troubling picture, accusing him of threatening and coercing women and others to protect his reputation and cover up his actions. He faces serious charges, including forced labor, kidnapping, bribery, and obstruction of justice. Moreover, he is accused of physically mistreating women by striking, dragging, and kicking them, among other violent acts.
JLo’s mom is said to think that Diddy’s influence played a big role in ruining JLo’s relationship with Ben Affleck. Apparently, Ben started to distance himself from JLo around the time the FBI raided Diddy’s homes. Some sources suggest that the feds showed Ben some tapes involving JLo, and that was just too much for him to handle.
Suge Knight even weighed in, suggesting that those tapes could have been a factor in JLo and Ben’s possible breakup. He mentioned a time when he considered selling a tape of JLo with a former boyfriend. Although JLo sued to block its release, Knight’s lawyer claimed the tape didn’t exist, leading JLo to drop the lawsuit. Still, rumors persist that the tape might still be out there somewhere.
With all this drama involving Diddy, JLo, and her mom, it’s clear we haven’t heard the last of this story yet.
