Kidada Jones Opens Up About Faith Evans and Tupac: Why She Holds a Grudge

Now, I’m not one to gossip, but I’ve seen this with my own eyes. Faith Evans did get involved with Tupac. She got into the car with him that night when he left the club. If I were Kidada Jones, I’d be furious that Faith Evans was hooking up with Tupac Shakur, especially given the situation between Pac and Biggie.

Did Biggie believe Tupac had relations with Faith Evans? Yes, he did. At first, he definitely believed it. Over time, I’m not sure if his belief changed, but initially, he was convinced. Why would the wife of his rival get involved with Tupac if not to spite him? I would be mad too. They weren’t in love or anything like that, but it happened. And Biggie was in love with Faith.

For some background: Tupac was engaged to Quincy Jones’ daughter, Kidada. Their relationship had a rocky start before they became close. Pac had criticized Quincy Jones in an interview, speaking against his interracial relationships and mixed-race children. In response, Kidada’s sister, Rashida Jones, slammed Tupac in an article, questioning his morals and criticizing him for disrespecting their father.

Months later, Kidada Jones and Tupac crossed paths at a nightclub. Tupac, mistaking Kidada for her sister Rashida, approached her to apologize for earlier comments he’d made about their father. Surprisingly, Kidada and Tupac ended up falling in love with each other.

Meanwhile, Faith Evans started dating Biggie after meeting him at a promotional photo shoot for Bad Boy Records in 1994. Reflecting on their whirlwind romance, Biggie once told Vibe magazine, “I married her after knowing her 8 days, and I was happy. That was my baby. At the same time, with us being so spontaneous, we did it backwards.” However, their marriage was complicated by rumors of Biggie cheating, including an affair with Lil’ Kim. Faith and Lil’ Kim had several clashes over Biggie, with Faith’s resentment rooted in the fact that, despite their apparent closeness, Kim and Biggie were secretly involved. Faith even shared a story about catching Biggie and Kim naked in bed during the holidays. Biggie then tried to convince Faith that nothing had happened between them.

While it’s unclear if Faith retaliated by hooking up with Tupac, tensions between Tupac and Biggie grew when Faith collaborated with Tupac on a song and was photographed with him during the peak of their feud. In an interview on “Marriage or Mirage,” Faith addressed her involvement in the feud and working with Tupac, saying, “I didn’t know Pac was signed to Death Row, you know what I’m saying? So I never would have agreed to do a song with him or go in the studio.” She explained that when Tupac asked to collaborate, she mentioned it to Biggie, who responded, “You wanna do it?” Faith said she agreed, “Yeah, if he got the money.”

It’s pretty outrageous that she expected anyone to believe she didn’t know about the beef between Tupac and Biggie or that Pac was signed to Death Row. The whole world knew, so how could she not? And as if saying it once wasn’t enough, Faith repeated in several interviews that she had no clue about what was going on. She said things like, “I didn’t really know a lot of the details, but it was clear he took a jab at Puff at the Source Awards. I was pretty oblivious to everything that had happened before that until a few years later.”

Faith even threw Tupac under the bus by alleging that when she went to his hotel to collect $25,000 she claimed she was owed, Pac made an incredibly offensive demand. She felt like she’d been duped and that the whole thing was part of some scheme. “I let myself be played and got into a situation I wouldn’t normally be in. That’s not how I do business, and it was never an option for an exchange like that.”

It’s suspicious she’d make these claims when Tupac couldn’t defend himself. Faith’s denial of knowing about the feud doesn’t hold up when you consider her other contradictions, like her false statements about Diddy’s relationship with Biggie. “Puff would never have Big. Puff would never be involved in one of his best friends beyond being his artist,” she claimed.

She tried to paint Diddy and Biggie’s relationship as something special, and insisted she wasn’t as close to Biggie. According to her, any theory linking Diddy to Biggie’s death was just a conspiracy. “If we thought that was true, we would have sued Puff a long time ago. They’ve tried to get us to do that, but we know better.”
By the time Biggie was killed, he and Diddy weren’t exactly on good terms. Despite Faith Evans denying it, there’s a lot of talk that she was involved with Tupac while she was still with Biggie. Stevie J has made it clear that he thinks Faith should come clean. He said, “We all believe it. I was there. I definitely believe it. You know, it’s not a bad thing, is it?” Tupac fueled the rumors with his infamous diss track “Hit ‘Em Up,” where he claimed he had been with Biggie’s wife. Biggie even rapped about Faith possibly having Tupac’s babies if she had twins. Jaguar Wright has been especially blunt about Faith’s alleged desire for Tupac over Biggie, which she finds pretty amusing.

Jaguar also mentioned that when Faith was pregnant, she was unsure whether the baby was Biggie’s or Tupac’s, given her relationships with both men. The whole situation is seen as pretty ironic, with Faith supposedly not knowing which man she was carrying a child for.

Kidada Jones is rumored to dislike Faith because of this affair and has made her feelings known recently. However, some think Kidada should take a step back, considering the controversies involving her own father. There was even an interview where Tupac claimed Quincy Jones asked him to hook up with him, but that audio has vanished from the internet, even though many remember it.

Tupac was reportedly thinking about leaving Death Row for Quincy Jones’ label, and Keyshia Cole shared on Fat Joe’s Instagram Live series that Tupac told her on the day he died that he wanted to leave Death Row and bring her with him to Quincy’s label. “Yeah, I actually did know him and he wanted to sign me to Quincy when he was with Kidada, Quincy Jones’ daughter, and he was going to leave Death Row and go to sign with Quincy. And he wanted me to go over there because he said that Death Row is not the place for kids.”
There were rumors back in the day that Quincy Jones had the audacity to suggest that Tupac sleep with him, thinking that his daughter’s relationship with Tupac wasn’t very serious. Even though that’s pretty disturbing, some people thought Kidada wasn’t as important to Tupac as she made it seem.

There are two main stories about why Kidada wasn’t with Tupac the night he was shot. One is that Tupac told her to stay at the hotel to keep her safe because he thought something might go down. The other is that Tupac just didn’t see her as essential and didn’t need her around that night.

There were also whispers that Kidada and Tupac were engaged, but after Tupac’s death, his friends suggested their relationship wasn’t as serious as an engagement. Regardless of what was really going on, it makes sense that Kidada would be upset if Faith Evans was involved with Tupac, especially since they were publicly together. Rumor has it that Kidada still can’t stand Faith Evans. Can you blame her? And why do you think Faith still denies any involvement with Tupac?
