I was immobilized, utterly powerless, trapped in that situation all because of your betrayal. Can you believe it? There was so much bitterness festering. Some might argue that Omarion obstructed the success of B2K members and sabotaged their careers when he exposed them and pursued a solo career. Lil Fizz certainly seems to hold that view. But what about their actions towards him, especially Lil Fizz dating his ex, April Jones? Was that really necessary? Omarion hasn’t been on good terms with his former bandmates Lil Fizz, Boogie, and Raz B for about 20 years now. Even in June 2022, the animosity was evident. After Mario bested Omarion in a versus battle, the other B2K members mercilessly ridiculed him. But Omarion wasn’t going to let it slide. He responded on Instagram: “You guys crack me up. I appreciate the creativity. If you’ve been in this industry for 22 years like me, you know that glitches happen. It’s part of being an artist and exposing yourself to the world.” Then he subtly threw shade at the other B2K members.
In response to the three points raised, I’m hardly surprised; it seems to be the consistent pattern, even when we were together, with some praying for my downfall. Well, they can keep praying because I’m fully booked and focused. Meanwhile, it might be wise for them to find something productive to do rather than dwelling on negativity. I’ve heard UPS is hiring background dancers; perhaps they should consider that. Ouch, that must have stung.
J Boog chimed in by suggesting that during their time together, Omarion had a desire to be the most renowned and adored member, which apparently wasn’t the reality. According to Boog, he and Fizz garnered more favor, much to Omarion’s dismay. Despite singing the leads, Omarion felt overshadowed by Boog, who only had speaking parts, and Fizz, who rapped on their singles.
Shortly after J Boog’s comments, Raz B shared a legal document from 2019 on Instagram, indicating Omarion’s official departure from B2K. However, this revelation merely scratched the surface. During a candid discussion on Drink Champs, Fizz, Boog, and Raz B aired out numerous grievances. It became evident that B2K’s management had been mishandling their finances behind the scenes. The group decided to strategize privately, agreeing to part ways with their management and avoid returning to the residence the management had purchased for them. They made a pact to reside with their parents upon returning to California after touring, with plans to seek legal counsel. Allegedly, Omarion betrayed this plan by informing on his fellow group members once they returned to California.
At that moment, the management delivered the news: Omarion was going solo. They sat in a half circle, almost like a tribunal, asking, “Who wants to kick things off?” It was like a decree: “From B2K, it’s a wrap. Omarion’s going solo. The rest of you just need to wrap up filming, recording for the ‘You Got Served’ soundtrack, and do the videos. That’s all we need from you.” It was clear they felt betrayed by Omarion’s solo move, seeing it as him sabotaging their collective careers.
Fizz also spilled about a hookup with one of the women on tour, causing further tension as Omarion had feelings for her too. Fizz insisted she wasn’t Omarion’s partner, just someone random. But then there was the bombshell: Fizz dating the mother of Omarion’s children, April Jones, after their breakup. This naturally ignited a powder keg of animosity between them.
For months, Omarion stayed mum on the topic, until finally addressing it in an interview with Vlad TV. He expressed a nonchalant attitude, saying, “I don’t feel any way about it. If they’re happy, then they should be happy. But they should change the narrative. She’s still the mother of my children, so when something affects her…”
“It impacts my children, and consequently, it affects me, you know? But her choice is to live her life, and I believe people should pursue their happiness.” He handled the situation with grace in his response. In another interview, he maintained a consistent stance, expressing that he and Fizz had a longstanding on-and-off friendship spanning two decades before Fizz decided to pursue a relationship with his ex. Omarion was wrapping up the Millennium tour with B2K when he became aware of Fizz and April’s involvement. “I just heard about it through the grapevine, you know? But I want to emphasize, what April and I shared was unique and beautiful. We created something truly special together, something that can’t be replaced.” Despite the challenges, it’s evident that this period was likely difficult for Omarion, particularly with April giving interviews about her relationship with Fizz and making provocative comments. As some may recall, in 2021, Fizz publicly apologized to Omarion during a performance for his involvement with the mother of Omarion’s children.
“I’m not proud of it, mate. So, I want to take this moment to sit here with humility and offer my sincere apologies to you for any rifts between us and your family, buddy.” You know, Omarion may have publicly stated that everything was fine, but do you believe he truly forgave Fizz for getting involved with multiple women he was interested in? Anyway, during their conversation on Drink Champs, Fizz also revealed that behind the scenes, television producer and Love and Hip-Hop creator Mona Scott-Young had plans to create a documentary about their Millennium tour in 2019, but Omarion’s team prevented it from happening. And that was the end of it. So, once again, Fizz hinted that Omarion was hindering his success. Oh, Fizz also mentioned that they discussed performing with Omarion on Versus, but during a call with Omarion’s manager, she acted as if she was unaware of the group performing, despite previous discussions. Additionally, Lil Fizz claimed he was the brains behind the idea for Omarion’s hit single “Post to Be.” However, after the song’s massive success, reaching triple platinum status and peaking at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Omarion apparently cut ties with Fizz. Shortly after the Drink Champs interview, Omarion took to Twitter to post, “Don’t be easily misled. Do your research and ask the right questions. Acknowledge your faults and move forward.” While this could refer to anything, fans speculated it was a response to the interview. Although not explicit, Omarion was more direct when he appeared on The Breakfast Club.
When questioned about how B2K managed to maintain harmony on tour despite underlying tensions, Omarion candidly disclosed how the brotherhood within the group felt artificial and external influences fueled discord. “Everyone interprets it differently, unfortunately. Some don’t have siblings, so its significance varies. We were assembled to be brothers, but in truth, we weren’t. Many external forces facilitated our connection and subsequent disconnection.” He emphasized that genuine brotherhood doesn’t entail jealousy or vindictiveness, traits he encountered within B2K, particularly with Fizz. “While we shared a journey, it didn’t translate to true brotherhood, unlike my bond with Orion.” Omarion asserted that while Lil Fizz apologized, one apology couldn’t erase his actions. This contrasts with Fizz’s claim that their careers suffered due to Omarion’s revelations. What’s your take? Did Omarion contribute to their downfall, and how do you view Fizz’s actions towards him?
