You’d think Jay-Z and Beyoncé were the perfect couple, right? But then you find out Jay-Z was involved with a pretty average-looking white woman, maybe a 6.3 out of 10. There have always been rumors about Jay-Z being a serial cheater, with mistresses like Cathy White, Rachel Roy, the mid chick rated 6.3 at best, an alleged 15-year-old Casey Cohen, Rita Ora, and even Rihanna. It’s also said that the herpes Beyoncé had came from her closest involvement, Sean Carter. But have you ever wondered why Beyoncé stays with him through all of this? Well, allegedly, Beyoncé puts up with Jay-Z because she has her own secrets she’d prefer to keep hidden.
Dr. Terry Lynn Carrington put together Beyoncé’s all-female band, initially an idea by Matthew Knowles. However, Beyoncé, determined as always, took the reins and made it happen herself. Now, the Beyhive is urging Beyoncé to pack her bags and leave. With recent events involving Diddy, there are concerns that Jay-Z might be next in line for scandal, with rumors suggesting he’s done even worse. It might be wise for Beyoncé to distance herself before the situation gets messier. For now, let’s focus on the alleged affairs and why it might be time for Beyoncé to move on.
If you’re not in the loop yet, you should definitely know about Cathy White, also known as Cori. She died under mysterious circumstances the same year Beyoncé was expecting Blue Ivy, not long after she talked publicly about her relationship with Jay-Z. The buzz around Jay-Z and Cathy being an item started when they were seen partying at Las Vegas’s Town nightclub in 2010 with Jay-Z and Diddy. They were in town for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Juan Manuel Marquez fight. It turns out Jay-Z even bought Cathy a $2,500 pair of Louis Vuitton shoes for the night. To keep things on the down-low, he asked her to bring a few friends along, but people still noticed their connection.
Two weeks before her death, Cathy was contacted by a major tabloid that was investigating her link to Jay-Z. While she didn’t reveal much to them, it’s reported that after their conversation, she called Jay-Z and threatened to expose their affair unless he paid her off. Then, just 48 hours after Beyoncé announced her pregnancy with Jay-Z, Cathy suddenly died under mysterious circumstances, with the official cause of death listed as a brain aneurysm. A detective even noted that the situation seemed suspicious and mentioned an autopsy and toxicology test would be done, which would take about two weeks. However, the final autopsy report was never released, and the details didn’t make it to the media. Allegedly, Jay-Z managed to keep it all under wraps.
Aside from the drama with Cathy, there was also this old rumor that Jay-Z might have been cheating on Beyoncé with Rihanna. Some people think that’s actually what triggered the altercation between Chris Brown and Rihanna. There’s a theory that Jay-Z did a lot to shift the public narrative about what happened that night.
So, the story goes that before the 2009 Grammys, Rihanna and Chris Brown had a major fight in a Lamborghini. Rihanna apparently confronted Chris about cheating, which led to a heated argument. Things got physical, and Rihanna ended up with a busted lip, a black eye, and some bruises. Chris later claimed that Rihanna grabbed his phone and touched him inappropriately, which led him to retaliate by biting her. He said Rihanna got out of the car, screamed, threw his phone, and kept hitting him. According to him, the argument turned violent, and he ended up punching her, which caused her injuries.
Later, a story started circulating that Chris Brown got furious after contracting an STD from Rihanna, which she allegedly got from Jay-Z. The tale goes that after Chris confronted Rihanna about her behavior, she followed him to his Lamborghini, and they ended up fighting, with Chris retaliating.
When rumors about Rihanna’s supposed affair with Jay-Z first surfaced, her publicist tried to deny them. In an email, the publicist confessed that the rumor was a reckless PR stunt aimed at boosting “Pon de Replay,” admitting that they didn’t expect it to blow up like it did. The publicist also expressed regret and a desire to put the rumor to rest, feeling sickened by the spectacle and the suffering it caused.
But there’s a chance the publicist was pressured or paid to dismiss the rumors, given Jay-Z’s power and influence. It’s possible that the affair did happen and even continued during Rihanna’s relationship with Chris Brown.
Even though Jay-Z and Rihanna denied any affair, it seems Jay-Z did cheat on Beyoncé with someone else. In 2014, TMZ released footage of Beyoncé’s sister, Solange, attacking Jay-Z in an elevator. While the exact reason for the attack was never made public, many fans thought it might be connected to Jay-Z’s cheating. Jay-Z himself later admitted to being unfaithful, and Beyoncé poured her heart out about it in her album “Lemonade,” including a track called “Sorry” where she mentions “Becky with the good hair.”
A lot of people think that “Becky” is Rachel Roy. Rachel had interned at Rocawear, the fashion brand started by Jay-Z and Damon Dash, and eventually became the creative director for women’s and children’s lines. She was married to Damon Dash, though it’s unclear when her affair with Jay-Z might have started. When Beyoncé’s “Sorry” came out, the Beyhive was quick to think Rachel was the “Becky” mentioned. Rachel seemed to stir the pot with an Instagram post around the release of “Lemonade,” saying: “Good hair, don’t care, but we will take good lighting for selfies or self-truths. Always live in the light. #NoDramaQueens.”
I think it’s time for Beyoncé to own up to her bisexuality. Remember when there were rumors that Ail, who worked with Beyoncé on “I Got That,” claimed Beyoncé was in love with her and that she’s actually queer? Or when Lady Gaga mentioned working with Beyoncé on “Telephone” and said, “We had an amazing time on her video, and it worked because we both like women”? There were also stories about Beyoncé having a close relationship with her female guitar player during tours.
Then there’s that rumor about Beyoncé being spotted at The Box with a few girlfriends, enjoying a wild burlesque show. Apparently, she was really into it, cheering as two performers got intimate, and stayed until 3:30 in the morning.
It seems like there’s some sort of arrangement where Beyoncé keeps this part of her life private while Jay-Z gets to do his thing. But does that arrangement make sense to you?
