Nobody was expecting, “OMG, not Serena Williams!”
[ __ ] walked straight into Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning diss track, Not Like Us—which, let’s be honest, was the highlight of his Super Bowl performance for a lot of people. But what really made Serena take that shot at Drake?
Well, looks like she still hasn’t forgotten when Drake called her husband a groupie. And let’s not pretend Drake wasn’t in his feelings about Serena and SZA standing with Kendrick on that stage. Otherwise, why else would he launch into a whole rant about his exes during his own set?
“Gave you time, gave you energy, gave you money, gave you heart, gave you soul, gave everything that you ever had to somebody, and they played with you… wasted your time, wasted your energy, wasted your money… I want y’all to turn up to this song! This is for all y’all exes that ever thought they could play you. If you’re doing better than your ex, I want to see you!”
That diss performance sent shockwaves everywhere, and so much has happened since. So let’s get into it.
We all know Kendrick and Drake’s beef has been brewing for years, but things really hit the fan when Kendrick dropped Not Like Us. The song took direct shots at Drake, calling him inauthentic and accusing him of taking cheap shots at his peers. It became the final blow in their revived feud, which started heating up again last March. The track was a monster hit, topping the Billboard charts and making history at the Grammys on February 2nd—winning Record of the Year and Song of the Year, making it only the second rap song ever to do so.
And just when you thought the drama was over, Drake turned around and sued his own label, Universal Music Group, for defamation—claiming they were profiting off a false narrative at his expense.
Yeah… this one’s far from over.
Even with all the legal drama, Kendrick Lamar didn’t back down from the controversy during his Super Bowl performance. He might have censored some lyrics, but his smirk and direct stare into the camera when he mentioned Drake’s name said everything—this war was far from over.

And even though he avoided dropping the infamous “P” word, the crowd made sure to fill in the blanks. They wanted the smoke.
[Music] Drake.
Yeah… that moment was something else.
But just when you thought it couldn’t get any more savage, Serena Williams—Drake’s ex—hit the stage. And she stole the show with her [ __ ] Walk dance.
Now, for those who don’t know, the [ __ ] Walk was created in the ’70s by the Crips in L.A. and later became a huge part of hip-hop culture, especially for artists with deep ties to the city.
But for Serena? This wasn’t just a dance. It was a statement. A very shady one aimed right at Drake.
A little refresher: Serena and Drake had an on-again, off-again thing from 2011 to 2015, and he even admitted she was the inspiration behind Too Good in 2016.
The problem? Even after they were done, Drake still couldn’t keep her name out of his mouth. Remember in 2022 when he randomly took a shot at her husband, Alexis Ohanian, in Middle of the Ocean?
“Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie.
He claim we don’t got a problem, but, no, boo—it’s like you coming for sushi.
We might pop up on him at will like Suzuki.”
Alexis handled it like a pro, tweeting:
“It’s cliché, but life changed when I became a husband and papa. It’s made me 100 times better as a man and a businessman. The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do—including being the best groupie for my wife and daughter.”
Fast forward to 2024, when Kendrick and Drake’s beef hit full throttle, and people started choosing sides. Given everything Drake had put her through, it was no surprise that Serena rocked with K.Dot.
She even threw some shade during the 2024 ESPY Awards, joking:
“If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us—not a single one of us, not even me—should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar. He will make your hometown turn against you. The next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they’re gonna Forrest Gump him—seat’s taken.”
But who would’ve thought she’d actually join Kendrick on stage to help him roast Drake?
Now that was legendary.
Of course, social media went crazy after the cameo, with a lot of people calling it the ultimate shot at Drake. And honestly, many felt like he had it coming, given his sketchy history with underage girls—something Kendrick didn’t hesitate to bring up during their beef.
Let’s not forget that 2010 performance when Drake, at 23, was getting way too comfortable with 17-year-old Tia. He was on stage, talking about how good her hair smelled, kissing the back of her neck in front of the entire audience (including her dad), and even wrapping his arms around her from behind. Then, after realizing he might’ve gone too far, he made a joke about getting in trouble.

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, he then asked how old she was. When she told him? He laughed it off, cracked a joke about going to jail, and even called her body “thick.”
[Music]
“See, y’all gonna have me getting carried away again. I get in trouble for sh— How old are you? Oh, don’t—”
[Applause]
“Say I got put—I can’t go to jail yet, man.”
And then there’s the 2021 TikTok drama, where people exposed Drake’s alleged private Tinder. Basically, one of his guys would go around scouting the “hottest young girls,” interview them, and pick the one Drake liked best. Some of the women later shared their experiences, saying that once they got invited to his parties, no one even bothered checking their IDs—age didn’t seem to be a factor.
Once they were there, they were handed drinks, and before they could even finish, they were already stumbling. You can put two and two together.
So yeah, when Serena made that cameo, a lot of people saw it as well-earned payback—not just for what happened between them, but for Drake’s whole problematic past.
That said, not everyone was here for it. Stephen A. Smith had some thoughts, saying:
“If I’m married and my wife is out here trolling her ex—go back to him then, ‘cause clearly, you don’t belong with me! What are you worried about him for when you’re with me? Bye-bye!”
But Serena’s actual husband, Alexis Ohanian, didn’t seem to care at all. He clapped back at the criticism on X, writing:
“Some of y’all have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago—and it shows.”
So, what do y’all think? Was Serena just having fun, or was this a subtle dig at Drake? And does he actually deserve to be called out for his past behavior?
