Hold up, you can’t talk about that. It’s not just about feelings. Tamar Braxton is going through it again, and this time, she’s serious about cutting off her entire family. And who’s at the center of all this drama? Yep, her messy husband, Jeremy Robinson. Her family’s had enough of JR, but Tamar’s out here defending him like her life depends on it. And you know things are getting real when even Toni Braxton steps in. So, let’s break down how Tamar is ready to turn her back on her whole family for JR. Freaking JR, y’all.
I’m sure y’all already know that the Braxtons’ reality show, Braxton Family Values, is back, now called The Braxtons. And guess what? The sisters are already at each other’s throats. “I don’t give energy to certain things anymore. I’ve made different choices in my life, and that’s just where I am now.” This is T.J.N. speaking… So, outside of yesterday and today, when’s the last time you actually talked to me?
“Um, I… honestly, I don’t remember. It wasn’t on my birthday because you didn’t call.”
“Your birthday’s in September, and here we are in March.”
It looks like Tamar is really at the center of some major family drama. In a recent episode, the sisters sat down with a grief counselor named Spirit, and things were going okay until Spirit asked Towanda how she felt about not having much contact with Tamar. But before Towanda could even respond, Tamar jumped in, saying that Towanda doesn’t care. Tamar went on to accuse Towanda of putting more effort into staying in touch with Toni and Trina than with her. She even mentioned that she’s usually the one who has to reach out first and that Towanda only seems to get in touch when they’re filming. Towanda admitted that she couldn’t even remember the last time they spoke, pointing out that Tamar didn’t reach out on her birthday in September, even though they filmed the episode in March. Towanda seemed so frustrated that she admitted she’s focusing on the people in her own household now—her kids and her partner.
Tamar didn’t take that lightly. She fired back, “Toni’s in your household. They call me; I talk to them every day.”
Towanda responded, “Girl, you don’t answer the fu— that’s… let’s be specific. Did you call me yesterday?”
“I did,” Tamar replied.
Towanda then pressed, “Did I answer it? Well, ’cause we’re taping now.”
Tamar wasn’t backing down, though. She said, “No, no, no, no, ma’am. No, ma’am. No, ma’am. When you called me, every time you called—”
“That is not true,” Towanda interrupted.
Tamar insisted, “Every time you called, I answered. Every time you texted, I answered. That’s a fact, okay? That’s a fact.”
Towanda questioned, “So, I’m a liar?”
Tamar clarified, “No, you said that I didn’t call you. That’s the word that you’re using. Everyone knows that I always have receipts.”
Yikes, things are really heating up between these sisters. A lot of people believe Towanda might still be holding a grudge against Tamar for leaving their girl group, The Braxtons, way back when. Some even think Towanda might be a little jealous of Tamar’s solo success and her career in the spotlight. But honestly, it’s not just Towanda—everyone in the family seems to be having issues with Tamar right now.
And in case you missed it, Tamar recently shut down her social media accounts on X and Instagram after a bit of a meltdown, only to come back a day later. But before she went offline, she posted some pretty intense things on X, calling her family toxic. In posts that have since been deleted, she wrote, “Y’all have no idea, none. The gaslighting is crazy, and I’m going back into treatment. OMG, I just pray that my marriage can be saved and my life can be spared. My family is awful.” She also said, “I’m so mad at my life. My family is toxic. I should have never gone back to BFV.” Then she added, “JR means the world to me. Thank God for him. My husband and my children saved my life.” But in the next breath, she left everyone scratching their heads by saying she was sad and single.
Even though Tamar later clarified after returning to social media that she and JR are still together, a lot of people think that her meltdown shows she might need some serious help. And you know what? Her family seems to agree, at least allegedly. They apparently think JR is the reason Tamar is having all these issues with them because they just can’t understand why she’d stay with someone like him.
It’s been quite the ride for these two. They started dating in 2023, got engaged, and then, unfortunately, things took a turn. JR was the one who broke the news on Instagram, saying something like, “I know there are a lot of questions and assumptions out there. So, to clear things up, yes, Tamar and I are no longer together. I ended the relationship to focus on getting back to positive energy and being a better person. As for what happened and why, that’s private. But just to clarify, I never cheated, and I wasn’t there when her car was burglarized at her mom’s place.” He also added that fame wasn’t something he ever cared about, even though he ended up on a reality dating show, which he claims he turned down several times before eventually agreeing.
Before they officially split, Tamar had posted about a break-in on social media. She shared some pretty clear surveillance footage of people breaking into her car in her apartment building’s parking lot. But it wasn’t just the robbery that got people talking—it was what she wrote in her post: “I got robbed at home. I’m not safe anywhere. I don’t know why I keep getting violated. I had a lot in my car ’cause I don’t live anywhere ’cause I’m not safe anywhere or with anyone.” Naturally, this had people wondering what was going on, especially since she was engaged. It just didn’t seem like something you’d expect someone in a happy relationship to say. But as we later found out from JR himself, they had already broken up by that time.
Even after the breakup, Tamar’s behavior seemed a bit off, almost like she was seeking attention—not just from JR, but from anyone who would listen. For example, during an Instagram Live session where she was talking about her tour and other things, she made it a point to mention that she was alone during the live. She said, “Oh, and there’s nobody here with me today, so there’s nobody telling me what, you know, remind me what to say. Um, um, auditions are today at 7 o’clock here in Atlanta. Um, and what else? I can’t really… this person is asleep.” It was just a bit odd.
Then, out of nowhere, Tamar and JR got back together. But this was after some serious back-and-forth drama with Tommie Lee. And even after getting back together, JR was apparently still up to something because Tommie went on Instagram to share receipts of an outing with JR a month before he reunited with Tamar. Tommie didn’t hold back either. She posted a video saying something like, “Look, I’m not here to play games. I don’t indulge in drama, but Tamar needs to tighten up. We’re two black women, and we shouldn’t be letting this guy play us like this.” She even shared screenshots of messages between her and JR, where they complimented each other before deciding to meet up. Tommie alleged that JR paid for a room at the Waldorf Hotel, and they had a one-night fling.
Tommie also claimed that JR was spilling all kinds of tea about Tamar’s personal life, saying things like he had kicked her out of his Atlanta home, and she had to go back to her mom’s place. She also accused Tamar of lying about her tour ticket sales, saying JR told her the concerts were never actually sold out, despite what Tamar was telling her fans.
In one of her posts, Tommie even said, “JR, you don’t want to play with me. You don’t want me to expose everything you said about Tamar. You told me you kicked her out, and she had to go back to her mother’s house. And you said those sold-out tours were a lie. You said she was messy and went back to her mom’s house. You told me so many things you shouldn’t have told a stranger.”
Tommie’s video dropped just hours after a clip of Tamar, seemingly referring to Tommie as a “bitch,” went viral on social media. During her show at the House of Blues in Orlando, Tamar made it clear she was back with JR, but she also mentioned his time with Tommie at a basketball game, stirring the pot even more.
“So, here’s the thing—I had to go and get my man back. Some of y’all thought I’d let him go just because of a basketball game while we were broken up? Nope, not happening. When we’re not together, he doesn’t owe me anything. I could’ve been out with his friend for all you know! It’s fair game when you’re broken up. Don’t get it twisted—he’s a good man.”
But, it seems like Tamar’s family has had enough of this whole situation. Every time they bring it up, Tamar apparently flips out. They’ve even tried pointing out other red flags, but Tamar’s not hearing it. For example, everyone knows JR joined the Marine Corps after getting released in 1995, served in Afghanistan, and even got an Air Strike Flight Medal after surviving a helicopter crash. On top of that, he’s a successful attorney with his own firm. But the part that has everyone raising eyebrows is JR’s past—by the age of 16, he already had two felonies and ended up in juvie, where he got his GED. Sure, people can turn their lives around, and some might say he shouldn’t be judged for what he did as a teenager. But how do you explain him being the father of five kids with four different women? And, to top it off, two of those kids were born in the same year but with different women. Clearly, he was involved with both women at the same time—probably lying to both.
And the drama doesn’t stop there. Some of these baby mamas and exes have been causing all kinds of chaos. One of them, Aniston Jenny, even claimed that Tamar brought unnecessary drama into her son’s life. This all started after Tamar mentioned that between her and JR, there are six kids, and they mean everything to her. Aniston clapped back with, “This woman is not a bonus or stepmom to my son. He doesn’t mean everything to her, and she hasn’t thanked God for me or for Truth, or any of his baby mamas. She’s said some demeaning, disrespectful, and outrageous things about how I’ve chosen to co-parent with my son’s father.”
And then there was this other woman who said she met JR on a dating app and things kicked off from there. She claims he’s a lawyer in Atlanta who spends big money and that his type is young, pretty Black women. He took her on dates, gave her an allowance, bags, and even helped with her rent. She says this happened recently, so Tamar’s engagement to JR seems suspicious and not genuine to her. According to her, JR is definitely using Tamar to get famous, and it’s as clear as day. She even went as far as to warn Tamar, saying, “You’re in danger, ma’am.”
And if you think that’s wild, there’s more. Another of JR’s baby mamas accused him of having a fetish for Black women, to the point where he calls himself “light-skinned white chocolate” and claims he’s “the minority within the minority.” That’s a lot to take in. She also described JR as rude, arrogant, racially insensitive, and a womanizer. She says that although he claims to be an ally and a protector of Black women, his actions tell a different story. She also detailed their co-parenting issues, saying he’s dismissive of her concerns as a parent and even manipulates their daughter by sending screenshots of their adult conversations in a family group chat. She went so far as to call him a “colonizing predator” who fulfills his fetish for biracial babies to boost his ego and desire to be accepted by the Black community.
All of this makes you wonder—does Tamar not see any of this? These are just some of the things Toni Braxton and the rest of the family have been trying to point out to her. But Tamar’s made it clear: if they don’t stay out of her business, she’s ready to cut ties with the entire family.
