Whoopi Goldberg Shares Why She Avoided Diddy

For the longest time, I thought I was the only victim. But why did I put that on myself? The truth is, there are plenty of people like Puffy in the music industry. Calling him out means calling out all of them.

So, let’s talk about The Fall of Diddy—the docu-series that just finished airing and left people absolutely stunned. Everyone knew Diddy was involved in some shady stuff, but no one realized just how deep it really went. This series dropped never-before-seen footage and jaw-dropping interviews, exposing things in a way we’ve never seen before. And now? People are demanding accountability—not just from Diddy but from anyone who had ties to him. We’re talking big names: Oprah, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez. Even people you wouldn’t expect to be dragged into this, like Whoopi Goldberg, are suddenly in the conversation.

Speaking of Whoopi, she’s been making headlines left and right lately. First, there were rumors about an $80 million lawsuit from Elon Musk, and now, people are calling her out for her past association with Diddy. And honestly? Some of her recent comments about the whole situation have been a little… weird. Like, she’s made jokes that almost sound like she’s trying to downplay things—giving off the vibe that she might have been closer to Diddy than she ever let on.

Take this moment, for example:

“Um, narcotics? That’s not… that’s not—lubricant is not—it ain’t a crime, guys. It ain’t a crime. But it is evidence. It can be used as evidence of a freak-off.”

What was she even trying to say here? Because to a lot of people, it sounded like she knew way more than she was admitting. And that raises the real question—has Whoopi ever actually addressed the rumors about her connection to Diddy? Did she witness anything at these so-called “freak-offs”?

But before we even get into all that, let’s talk about this Elon Musk situation. Have y’all seen the claims that he’s suing Whoopi for defamation? Word is, it all started after she went off on The View about him.

First, she accused Elon of trying to “buy the election” because of his $1 million giveaway to Americans who signed his petition supporting the Constitution. Then, she took it even further, calling him the “actual Vice President” and saying he should be forced to give up ownership of X.

And she didn’t stop there. She even claimed Musk thinks he’s the president. Then Joy Behar jumped in, saying she thinks Musk is preparing for a run when Trump is out of the picture. That’s when Whoopi made a joke that had everyone doing a double take:

“Hey, you know who? Stay away from the stairways, ’cause you know people put the leg out to trip you going down the stairs.”

It was the kind of comment that makes you wonder if she regretted saying it the second it left her mouth. Because during the next commercial break, she must’ve realized she might’ve crossed a line. And when they came back? She was suddenly backtracking, trying to explain herself.

Just to clear things up—I was talking about my cat lying in wait for me on the stairs. I didn’t mean to imply that someone was literally standing there with their legs out, trying to trip him.

Anyway, a lot of people didn’t take too kindly to Whoopi Goldberg’s jokes and comments about Elon Musk. Then, a few days later, rumors started swirling that Elon was suing her. I haven’t seen the lawsuit myself, but one thing’s for sure—this whole situation has stirred up a big debate about the line between free speech and straight-up defamation.

But here’s the thing—people are also wondering why Whoopi hasn’t had the same energy for Diddy, considering all the serious allegations against him. Is it because they’re friends? Some people even think she might’ve been a willing participant in his so-called “freak-offs.” Given how outspoken she’s been about other controversies, her reaction to Diddy’s case has definitely raised some eyebrows.

One of the moments that really stood out was when the indictment against Diddy became public. Do you remember that? On September 17th last year, a grand jury indictment revealed that federal agents found 1,000 bottles of baby oil and three AR-15s at his homes in Miami and L.A. According to reports, these were all linked to his wild parties, which involved drugs, special lighting, and extra linens.

The indictment painted a disturbing picture. It alleged that Diddy used threats, coercion, and his power to control and exploit women while covering up his behavior. Apparently, he had been at it for years—since at least 2009—physically abusing women by punching, dragging, throwing things at them, and kicking them.

It also accused him of tricking women into relationships, only to force them into these “freak-offs” using physical and psychological manipulation. The events were reportedly planned out, sometimes filmed, and his staff even booked hotel rooms in advance, making sure they were stocked with baby oil, lubricant, fresh sheets, and lighting. Some of these parties allegedly went on for days, with Diddy and others needing IV fluids to recover.

These aren’t just some tabloid rumors—these are serious accusations. But instead of treating the situation with the weight it deserved, Whoopi cracked a joke.

For context, during The View, legal expert Sunny Hostin explained:

“Cases like this aren’t super common, but RICO convictions are very common in federal cases. These laws are usually used against mobs. They’re describing a criminal enterprise that involved transporting people across state lines for sex, and they called these events ‘freak-offs.’ When they raided his homes, they found 1,000 vials of lubricant, honey.”

That’s when Whoopi chimed in, brushing it off:

“Um, narcotics? That’s not—that’s not—the lubricant is not—it ain’t a crime, guys. It ain’t a crime. But it is evidence. It can be used as evidence of a freak-off.”

But this wasn’t just about lubricant—this was about a much bigger, more disturbing operation that allegedly involved underage victims and serious crimes. And the way Whoopi reacted? A lot of people thought it was pretty questionable.
Whoopi and the other hosts joking about the issue set off a storm on social media. People were quick to say that while humor can work in certain situations, this wasn’t one of them, especially given the serious nature of the allegations.

There was a lot of outrage, especially when the hosts kept interrupting Sunny as she tried to share her thoughts. People were particularly critical of Whoopi, saying she gave off “friends with P. Diddy” vibes during the segment.

It turns out this wasn’t the first time Whoopi seemed to be buddy-buddy with Diddy, and before long, old photos of the two started making the rounds online. Some people even joked that her comment about Diddy and baby oil made it seem like she might’ve seen him using it at parties.

A lot of people weren’t all that shocked by Whoopi’s defense of Diddy, either, with some saying it wasn’t out of character for her.
