After high school, she got her cosmetology license and even co-owned a salon in New Orleans. In 2013, she opened her own place, Kaleidoscope Hair Studio, and later launched her hair products, which spread mostly through word of mouth. By 2017, she stopped doing hair to focus on building her brand, which is now a multimillion-dollar empire, as reported by Forbes. Kaleidoscope products are sold in big stores like Target, Walmart, and Sally Beauty. On top of that, Judy’s a bestselling author. In 2019, she released her book When the Miracle Drops: How Instagram Helped Turn a Quick Fix into a Million-Dollar Product, where she breaks down how social media helped her business take off. She also has over 3 million followers on Instagram, where she shares her life openly. Her huge social media presence was actually one of the reasons Da Brat felt comfortable coming out publicly.
