There’s a pretty good reason why Katt Williams seems to be blackballed in Hollywood. Apparently, he refuses to play the game and “sell his soul” for fame and fortune, unlike Tyler Perry. He’s doing everything he can to expose the truth. Some people are against the Illuminati, but they face constant backlash for it. Those who stand against the Illuminati often get criticized by the press and disliked by the public.
Few celebrities openly discuss whether the Illuminati exists, but Katt Williams is an exception. According to him, the Illuminati is real and controls many people in Hollywood, including Tyler Perry. In an interview with BET, Katt said, “For those of us who hunt the Illuminati and do battle against them, we know they’re real. The interesting part is, we’re all trying to be the Illuminati at the end of the day because those are the enlightened ones. It doesn’t really matter that this group is enlightened under fictitious circumstances; it is what it is. Nonetheless, it’s about having the information, and as long as they have the information that we don’t have, then they will continue to be as real as they have always been.”
In 2013, Katt also did an interview with Black Tree TV about his role in “Scary Movie 5,” where he went into detail about how Hollywood elites, especially black celebrities, are controlled. One example he gave was a theory that black actors are forced to wear dresses on screen. He mentioned this after Kevin Hart wore a dress on SNL, but noted that Hart doesn’t have to worry too much because people like Tyler Perry have done it before him. “At the end of the day, Kevin doesn’t have to worry about what people are going to say about him wearing a dress because of the long line of dress-wearing people before him. So now we have Big Mama’s House one, two, and three. Yeah, I’ve never seen Madea in a pantsuit.”
Katt Williams has long been critical of Tyler Perry, arguing that black celebrities often don’t have much choice when it comes to wearing dresses. According to Katt, Tyler Perry, like many other black artists, had to endure what’s called the “dress ritual.” Some people believe this ritual is real, pointing to incidents like Kevin Hart being asked to comment on the pressure for black actors to wear dresses. Hart once said he’d never cross that line to protect his brand: “You have to have boundaries. You have to have limits that you refuse to cross. For me, I know what they are.” Yet, Hart eventually wore a dress, leading Katt to claim that Kevin, like Tyler Perry, sold out.
It’s alleged that this ritual isn’t just about humiliation but also signifies an artist’s allegiance. Katt Williams isn’t the only one speaking out about black artists supposedly selling their souls. Dave Chappelle has also been open about how artists are controlled in Hollywood. He brought up the incident with Martin Lawrence in 1996 when Lawrence was found wandering the streets of LA, brandishing a gun and screaming, “They’re trying to kill me!” Witnesses said he also yelled, “Fight! Don’t give up! Fight the power!” as he was taken to the hospital. The tabloids wrote it off as Martin not taking his medication and being crazy, but Dave Chappelle wasn’t convinced. He asked, “So let me ask you this: what is happening in Hollywood that a guy that tough will be on the street waving a gun, screaming, ‘They are trying to kill me’? What’s going on?”
Dave has faced frustration because he refused to sell out, unlike Tyler Perry and others. In 2005, he walked off the set of season three of “Chappelle’s Show” and went to South Africa. He explained, “I wasn’t walking away from the money. I was walking away from the circumstances that came with the newfound success.” The powers that be tried to make it seem like Dave was losing his mind when he attempted to break free, but he consistently denied these claims. “I’m not crazy. I’m not smoking crack. I’m definitely stressed out. There were things that overwhelmed me, but not in the way people are saying.”
Dave even mentioned other celebrities to show that strange things happen in Hollywood. “Look, Mariah Carey made a $100 million deal, and three months later, she’s suddenly ‘crazy.’ Or Martin Lawrence punches through and is waving a gun on the street, screaming, ‘They’re trying to kill me.'” Like Katt Williams, Dave has been open about the so-called dress ritual. They tried to get him to wear a dress, but Dave refused. In fact, there was a movie where he was supposed to wear a dress, but the producers had a backup plan ready because they knew he probably wouldn’t do it. Katt Williams noted that because of his choices, Dave has faced significant challenges in the entertainment industry. “Dave Chappelle has never been part of the Illuminati. They don’t want him or me or people like us.”
Katt also admitted that he didn’t initially realize how dangerous it was to speak out against these things in the industry, and he had to face many hardships before understanding what he was dealing with. Kanye West has also talked for years about people selling their souls in Hollywood and being controlled. “They can’t control me. You get what I’m saying? They can control Shaq. They can control Charles Barkley. They can control LeBron James. They can control Jay-Z and Beyoncé. I know you, man, but they can’t control me. You see, it ain’t no name I won’t name. It’s up.”
It’s not just Katt Williams and Dave Chappelle who are speaking out. Many other celebrities recognize what’s going on in Hollywood, and when they try to speak up, they often get blackballed. According to Katt Williams, people like Tyler Perry win numerous awards because they’ve sold their souls to Hollywood. In contrast, Williams claims he doesn’t get the same opportunities because he refuses to play the game. He says, “We’re not going to be anybody’s favorite, and we’re going to miss out on a lot of the things that they’re going to get because we’re not like them, and we don’t do what they do. We’re not willing to do the things they’re willing to do.”
To highlight the extent of the humiliation involved in selling one’s soul, Williams also mentioned that the Will Smith-Chris Rock slap at the Oscars was staged. “I’m saying that everything that happens in a business that’s based on pretend and seems like a setup is.”
In essence, Williams is suggesting that many black celebrities act under the influence of Hollywood and lack control over their own lives. Some might argue that Williams should focus on his issues before criticizing others. But should we ignore the possibility of rituals, like the rumored dress ritual, just because of the messenger? Perhaps there’s an effort to discredit those who expose these practices because if someone like Katt Williams speaks out, people might dismiss it as nonsense.
