I’m broke, and there’s something important I need to share because it could affect anyone. Yes, folks, Wendy Williams is officially broke. Not only that, she’s also moved back to her family home in Florida, and this might mark the end of Wendy’s TV career as we know it. But hold on a second, why are they pushing Wendy to work on a documentary when she clearly needs to focus on recovery? Doesn’t this all seem like a setup to you? Because it certainly does to me. It’s clear that Wendy is in no shape to be working, yet those around her seem intent on exploiting her situation for all it’s worth.
I don’t understand why they’re pushing her to do a documentary, but they are, and all it will do is confirm people’s fears. In the trailer for Lifetime’s new two-part documentary “Where is Wendy Williams?”, Wendy appears on screen for the first time since leaving “The Wendy Williams Show”. One striking moment in the documentary is when Wendy reveals that since the age of 6, all she wanted was to be famous.
From the trailer, it’s evident that this documentary will extensively cover Wendy’s health decline, as there are scenes showing her needing assistance just to walk. At one point, when a producer asks if Wendy has seen a neurologist, she responds, “Did you see a neurologist to find out if I’m crazy?” Mhm.
Wendy’s health struggles aren’t new. Back in 2019, Wendy herself spoke about her challenges after taking an extended break from her talk show. She revealed on her daytime series that she had been living in a sober house for some time to address her struggles.
“Well, for a while now, and continuing today and into the future, I’ve been residing in a sober house. You might see me come to work all glammed up, right after the show, but then I head across the street to do my Pilates. I’ve mentioned before that I like to spend two hours a day taking care of my body.”
Unfortunately, there was a setback, and around August 2022, Wendy checked into an undisclosed rehab facility for treatment and stayed there for two months.
The struggles are depicted again in the documentary. Wendy is shown needing breaks on set, having difficulty standing, and a family member reveals that she was placed under guardianship by a judge due to her personal health challenges becoming too much to handle.
Additionally, Wendy’s battle with alcohol is highlighted when a loved one discovers a bottle of vodka among her belongings and asks, ‘Did you drink this whole thing today?’ Wendy responds sharply, instructing him to leave the bottle there.
During her recovery in bed, Wendy becomes agitated in the backseat of a car, demanding the driver to go. As she drives around her hometown of New York City, she admits she doesn’t recognize her surroundings, saying things don’t look familiar.
One family member speculates that she may be experiencing memory loss, and another remarks that anyone observing her can see it’s not just drinking—there’s something more going on, honey.
I personally believe that Wendy may have lost her memory, and here’s why: Do you all remember when Wendy was scheduled to make a comeback in May 2023 at the Atlanta Women’s Expo? During that time, there were reports of her being rushed to the hospital twice, leading to the cancellation of her appearance.
What wasn’t disclosed at the time was that Wendy’s team had submitted a tape for the Expo, which was later leaked just a few weeks ago. The tape featured Wendy addressing her upcoming appearance:
“Hi, it’s me, Wendy. Wendy Williams. But my real name is Wendy Hunter. I’m married to a hunter. Anyway, Wendy Williams, um, I’m going to be at the Women’s Empowerment Expo. It’s going to be Saturday, May 20th. Please be there. It’s very important.”
It’s evident that Wendy may have lost her memory because why else would she still be talking about being married to Kevin Hunter? Moreover, her subsequent remarks in the video were equally peculiar:
“They told me it would only take, like, like 20 minutes. Please let me tell you something, girls. It’s going to take an hour. I’ve got so much stuff to talk to you about. Okay, so I’ll see you there. Bye.”
Reportedly, the Expo team deemed the video unusable and raised concerns about Wendy appearing disoriented. A source close to the situation indicated that the Expo team rejected the video because they feared it would upset attendees, particularly given the Women’s Expo audience’s focus on women’s empowerment.
The upcoming documentary will delve into Wendy’s current financial struggles. It’s been revealed that Wendy is now officially broke, which has been an ongoing issue for some time.
Previously, Wendy expressed frustration over her money being mishandled, stating, “I’ve been asking questions about my money, but Lori Schiller and Wells Fargo haven’t provided satisfactory responses. I want my money. This isn’t fair.”
Her son, Kevin Jr., also shared concerns about his mother’s condition. He noted, “My mom always tries to make everything seem okay, but there’s clearly something wrong.”
Kevin Jr. has faced personal challenges due to Wendy’s situation. In late 2022, he was evicted from his $2 million Miami apartment and faced a lawsuit for $70,000 in back rent. Wendy had been covering his rent, but she could no longer afford it due to medical and legal issues.
Kevin Jr. appeared in court, explaining that his mother’s health problems led to the cessation of his financial support, including housing. He had taken a year off from school to care for Wendy.
In the documentary trailer, Kevin Jr. continues to assert that those close to his mother are exploiting her. He previously told “The Sun” that people around Wendy were prioritizing profits over her health.
According to Kevin Jr., those hired to assist Wendy were taking advantage of her vulnerability.
Some may wonder why Kevin Jr. participated in the documentary if he believes his mother is being exploited. Perhaps he wants to stay informed and be close to the situation to understand what’s truly happening.
In light of the situation depicted in the documentary, Kevin Jr.’s involvement may be driven by a desire to uncover the truth about his mother’s circumstances.
Perhaps poor Kevin had no other choice but to work for them, and he likely agreed because it was the only way he could stay close to his mom.
As for Wendy’s whereabouts, her old friend Miss Jones from the 94.7 “The Block” Morning Show recently mentioned that she tried to visit Wendy after her colleagues urged her to check on her.
Upon arriving at Wendy’s old apartment building and informing the doorman that she was there to see Wendy Williams, she was allegedly told, “You’re a couple of months late, she moved.”
According to Miss Jones, when she inquired further within the building, others shared, “Well, you know what happened? She was getting better, she was improving, and then she started getting sick again.”
Miss Jones also mentioned that because Wendy’s family is in Florida and unfamiliar people were entering her circle, they relocated her to Florida since they couldn’t access her as needed.
I’m still puzzled as to why Wendy’s team had her film a whole documentary when she clearly wasn’t in the right frame of mind to do so. What do you think? Do you believe there’s still a chance for the old Wendy to make a comeback? And what are your thoughts on her team continuing to put her to work? Do you think this documentary is just a setup?
