Wendy Williams’ Troubles Deepen — Allegations of Kidnapping and Medication Use

Hey, we just heard that Wendy’s situation is getting even worse—worse than Britney Spears’. It doesn’t help that her best friend, Regina Shell, is publicly expressing serious concerns about the kind of guardianship Wendy is under. This isn’t the first time Regina has spoken out about it either.

Remember when I stayed with Wendy in New York last summer? I noticed she had no access to her money. Every time she needed to pay for something, she had to go through her guardian. Wendy’s guardianship has been a mess from the start. She was very vocal about how problematic it was before she disappeared from the public eye.

I’m really worried because I’ve been asking about my own money, and now Lori Schiller isn’t responding to my questions. I just want my money. This isn’t fair. Wells Fargo isn’t giving me any answers either, and it’s so frustrating.

What happened was that Wells Fargo froze Wendy’s bank accounts and filed a petition for a guardianship hearing in early 2022. Wendy’s lawyer filed a complaint against the bank, arguing that Wendy’s former financial advisor had told Wells Fargo she was of unsound mind, which led to the account freeze. The bank cited its authority to freeze accounts if they suspect financial exploitation, dementia, or undue influence. Eventually, Wendy was put under a court-appointed guardianship with attorney Sabrina Morsey. But clearly, this arrangement isn’t working out as everyone, including Regina, had hoped.

Regina previously mentioned how she stayed with Wendy for most of 2022. She recalled that at one point, she, Wendy’s sister Wanda Finney, and the guardian were all collaborating to support Wendy’s needs. Initially, when Regina was staying with Wendy during the summer, they were coordinating and communicating with Sabrina, but then Sabrina suddenly disappeared. Regina noted that this was when the problems began, including issues with Wendy’s food deliveries. Wendy would order breakfast at 7:30 in the morning, but it wouldn’t arrive until 11:30, by which time she was ready for lunch and left without breakfast. When I returned to LA, I had to send her food from Los Angeles to New York through a delivery service because she wasn’t receiving her meals. Communication had completely broken down.

Now, Regina is back and reports that Wendy’s situation has only worsened. She pointed out that Wendy’s guardian, Sabrina Morsey, was court-appointed and a stranger to Wendy before taking control of her life in 2022. Regina compared this to Britney Spears’ situation but said it’s even worse because Wendy’s guardian isn’t even a family member. At least in Britney’s case, her father and family were involved. Regina believes Wendy should be surrounded by friends and family, not isolated and alone.

Regina also mentioned that before the guardianship, Wendy was actively looking for real estate and consulting with a financial expert at Bank of America to regain control of her finances. Regina can’t understand how Wendy went from being almost fully herself to now being incapacitated and unable to see anyone.

Regina believes Wendy is being forced to stay silent. From what Regina knows about Wendy, her friend would never be this quiet on her own. “I want people to understand that Wendy is a real person; this isn’t just karma at work. This is Wendy’s life. Her whole career is based on talking, and I don’t think she would be this quiet unless she was being forced to be. I haven’t spoken to my friend, who I used to talk to five times a day, for over a year now. She must be somewhere without access to a phone because Wendy always finds a way to call. If she could, she’d be calling me. It feels sinister. There’s something off about this. There’s no sign of her beyond a statement that doesn’t sound like her at all. Why hasn’t any medical team discussed her dementia diagnosis?”

Regina’s concerns make a lot of sense. Other Wendy watchers agree that Wendy would have definitely responded to the Lifetime documentary that featured her family. Wendy’s family members have voiced the same concerns to People magazine. They mentioned that they don’t know where Wendy is being treated, what kind of treatments she’s getting, and that they can’t contact her directly. They only hear from Wendy if she calls them. Wanda specifically said, “The people who love her cannot see her.”

So, how did we get here? Wendy’s family blames the lack of communication on her guardian, whose identity was initially kept private. According to the family, this guardian is the only person with full access to Wendy Williams. Alex Finney even appeared on The View, explaining that the family had no say in the guardianship process, no way to communicate with Wendy about what was happening, and often had to wait months for any information from the guardian. They said that one day, Wendy and her team walked into the courtroom, walked out, and the family was completely excluded. Suddenly, a barrier was erected, blocking the family out.

In April 2022, contact has been scarce ever since. It’s worrisome that not only are so many people left in the dark, but Wendy’s son Kevin Jr. is also unaware of what’s happening. According to someone close to Kevin Jr., “Kevin has talked to his mom now and then, and he knows she’s in some kind of treatment facility, but he doesn’t really know the details. He’s worried whether she’s getting the right care.” Wendy’s ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, has voiced frustrations about Sabrina, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. While his main grievance was Sabrina’s failure to handle alimony, I reluctantly agree with his concerns about Wendy’s finances.

During Kevin’s recent court filings, he mentioned, “On December 8, 2022, I participated in mediation with Wendy’s attorney and her New York court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morsey. In that session, they agreed to provide bank statements and financial records, claiming they had court approval.” Despite these assurances, Kevin claimed Wendy’s team never delivered the promised records. His attempts to follow up were met with silence until February 8, 2023, when Wendy’s counsel finally provided partial bank statements for November and December 2022.

Kevin’s argument revolves around Wendy’s accounts, which reportedly held significant funds when they were frozen. He finds it hard to believe that they could have been depleted within just one year. Whether or not you agree with Kevin’s actions concerning Wendy’s finances, the disappearance of her money raises valid concerns.

The whole situation with Sabrina is really suspicious, especially considering her history of controversy. She’s currently involved in a lawsuit where she’s accused of taking $30 million from another client. Now, with her being Wendy’s guardian since 2022, people are starting to question what’s really going on. Where is Wendy? Why hasn’t anyone shown us proof of her whereabouts or even a recent picture? It’s starting to feel like she’s being kept somewhere against her will. What do you think about all of this? Let me know in the comments below.
