Child, have you all been wondering what happened to Sharina Hudson now that she no longer has Wendy Williams’ money to rely on? Well, word on the street is that, just like Kevin Hunter, Sharina is struggling. Obviously, Kevin can’t afford to give her the baby girl treatment he was providing using Wendy’s money. Welcome to Hot Topics.
Sharina Hudson is getting out of my car with my money. We all know that if there was one person who caused Wendy constant grief for years, it was her ex-husband’s mistress, Sharina. Wendy revealed that she knew her ex was a serial cheater almost from the start: “I’ve known about her almost since the beginning. I’ve known that Kevin is a serial cheat.” She even said that Sharina wasn’t the first woman Kevin cheated with, but Sharina’s relationship with Kevin was definitely the longest, lasting around 15 years. Sharina was one of those not-so-smart women who moved to the big city with big dreams. She wanted to be a model and worked in clubs with sparkler champagne bottles, dressed scantily to entice people to spend more money.
Another thing that definitely hurt Wendy was that Kevin used her money to put Sharina through school to become a massage therapist. When that didn’t work out, he used Wendy’s money to open a kiosk for Sharina at a mall in North Carolina, where Sharina is from. Later, he helped her set up an online jewelry and clothing line called VISH. At one point, Sharina also became a realtor and listed her company at her Morristown residence, which was the same house Kevin bought for her using Wendy’s money. In 2021, Sharina launched a vegan company, again funded with Wendy’s money, and started making vegan pancakes in a kitchen Wendy paid for. Even after Wendy and Kevin divorced, Wendy continued to financially support not just Kevin but also Sharina and their daughter.
I don’t know how they’re raising their daughter, Joury, who will be two next month or so. That’s not my concern. I just know that my child support and alimony payments for all three of them are made on time every month.
As we all know, there came a point when Wendy couldn’t keep up with her alimony payments anymore. Kevin even took her to court, arguing that the monthly payments Wendy agreed to in their divorce suddenly stopped in February 2022. He boldly requested the court to compel Wendy’s guardian to continue the payments because he relied on them completely. When his request was denied, Kevin returned to court a few months later, insisting that Wendy’s guardian should restart the alimony.
In court documents, Kevin explained, “On December 8, 2022, I attended a mediation with Wendy’s lawyer and her court-appointed guardian attorney, Sabrina Morsy. During the mediation, Wendy’s team agreed to provide bank statements and records, claiming they had permission from the New York court.” Kevin added that despite assurances, Wendy’s team never delivered the promised bank records. By December 19, frustrated with the lack of response from Wendy’s side, Kevin emailed the mediator and copied everyone involved, expressing concerns about transparency and honesty during the mediation process.
He was demanding access to all financial records and insisted on continuing to receive his alimony. However, Sabrina’s countersuit claimed that Kevin actually owed money to Wendy. According to Sabrina’s court filing, payments to Kevin were supposed to stop if Wendy’s annual income fell below twice the amount she earned as of February 1, 2020. The guardian pointed out that Wendy had stopped hosting The Wendy Williams Show for the entire last season and had her full salary cut off in October 2021, while Kevin continued to receive his alimony payments.
Sabrina argued that Kevin had unfairly gained $112,500, which was equivalent to three months’ worth of $37,500 payments. She requested that Kevin repay this amount with interest. Additionally, the guardian requested a gag order on Kevin because of his extensive public comments about the case. Sabrina stated in court documents, “I’m asking the court to increase protection in this case and issue a gag order directing Mr. Hunter not to discuss these matters with the media or anyone else, except for his legal advisors. I also request that anyone he previously talked to about these matters refrain from further communication.”
With Kevin’s finances drained and facing a barrage of lawsuits, it came as no surprise to hear rumors circulating about Sharina leaving him. Reports even claimed she had taken Kevin to court over child support payments he allegedly hadn’t made. Apparently, Kevin had assured Sharina he had a plan to convince Wendy to continue paying alimony. Just before returning to court with Wendy, Kevin made a public announcement on Instagram, proudly declaring Sharina his “WIFE” in bold caps with two exclamation marks. Since their request was denied, they’ve kept a low profile, seemingly struggling without Wendy’s financial support.
Meanwhile, Wendy’s recent update followed her documentary, where she openly discussed her health challenges. The film showed scenes of her needing assistance to walk and taking breaks on set. When asked about seeing a neurologist, Wendy quipped, “Did you see a neurologist to find out if I’m crazy?” The documentary also revealed that Wendy had been placed under guardianship due to her declining health. According to a family member, “She was brought before a judge and assigned a guardian when her personal issues became overwhelming. They took her away from us.”
Wendy’s family, including her sister Wanda Finney and niece Alex Finney, spoke out to People magazine about their distressing situation. They revealed their anguish over not knowing where Wendy was receiving treatment, what kind of care she was receiving, and their inability to directly communicate with her. According to Wanda, “The people who love her cannot see her,” highlighting their frustration and confusion about the circumstances surrounding Wendy’s treatment.
The family expressed their concerns about Wendy’s guardian, Sabrina, who they claimed had sole access to Wendy. They also shared further insights on The View, where Alex discussed the lack of transparency in Wendy’s guardianship. Alex revealed that the family had no say in the guardianship proceedings and struggled to keep Wendy informed about important family matters, such as her father’s illness. They often faced long delays of several months before receiving any updates from the guardian.
In April 2022, the situation worsened as the family felt increasingly shut out, with communication becoming extremely limited. This abrupt change left them questioning how they had ended up in such a difficult position.
Apart from her family, Wendy’s close friend Regina Hall revealed that Sabrina had taken charge of Wendy’s finances, deciding how her money was spent. Regina noticed during her summer stay in New York that Wendy couldn’t access her own money directly; every expense required approval from her guardian. She criticized Sabrina for being slow to respond and fulfill Wendy’s requests, like delays in getting breakfast orders delivered on time.
Adding to Wendy’s troubles, it came to light that she is facing financial hardship. Wendy herself admitted, “I have no money,” highlighting the severity of her situation. Recently, Wendy was hit with a federal lawsuit claiming she owes over $500,000 in unpaid taxes from 2019 to 2021. This legal action resulted in her apartment being emptied out, as seen in photos from her luxury building residence.
Amidst all this, there are rumors circulating about Sharina and Kevin also experiencing financial difficulties. Speculation suggests Sharina may be considering leaving Kevin, with suggestions that her feelings may have been tied to financial benefits.
